Denver skateparks, mile-high concrete
Most trips to Denver with a board start at one place: the downtown Denver Skatepark. Here's what it's like, plus the smaller city skate areas when you want space.
Denver Skatepark is listed as use at your own risk. Hours, closures and rules change, so check the linked official page on the day you go.
Denver Skatepark
2205 19th St, Denver, CO 80202
Visit Denver describes it as one of the largest free skateparks in the US: about 2.5 acres, with about 60% of it skateable, split between bowls and street. It lists hours of 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The city's 2022 survey found it crowded and not very beginner-friendly. Lighting and concrete repairs followed in 2023.
Smaller city skate areas
Denver Parks & Recreation lists skate areas at Cuatro Vientos, Elyria, Greenway, La Alma Lincoln, Parkfield and Town Center parks. If downtown is packed or you're still learning, these are better bets. Look up each park on the city's amenities page for its location.
Tips
- Altitude and sun: bring more water than you think you need.
- Beginners: go downtown early in the morning, or try a neighborhood skate area.
